NEW DELHI—India banned dozens of Chinese cell applications, like widely applied TikTok and WeChat, following a border clash concerning troops from the two countries still left twenty Indian troopers dead this month.

New Delhi cited cybersecurity problems in blocking the Chinese applications from one of the most significant and speediest-rising marketplaces in the planet.
